Toronto transit union warns of strike

Toronto — Toronto's transit union is warning that it will go on strike Monday if it does not receive a "acceptable" offer by Friday at noon. Talks between the Toronto Transit Commission and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 are continuing. A strike by the union's 8,400 workers would bring the city's transit system to a halt and force hundreds of thousands of commuters to drive, walk or cycle to work.
