Kudelka quits top ballet job
James Kudelka, the artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada known for both his artistic genius and administrative turmoil, stunned the dance community yesterday by tendering his resignation.Senior officials at the National Ballet insisted Mr. Kudelka's decision to revert to being resident choreographer was strictly personal and that he was not forced out of the lead role.
Mr. Kudelka, 49, served as artistic director for the past nine years.
