Born Nov., 13, 1953, in Georgia. Friends and family call her Franny. Acclaimed stage actress, known for outstanding performances in mostly supporting roles. In the 1990s, she became a favourite of playwright Arthur Miller, starring in several Broadway and off-Broadway productions. Signed on to her first TV series in 2001 and shot to fame as Ruth Fisher in the HBO, funeral home drama, Six Feet Under.
Frances Conroy is on call for jury duty this week.
