It won't be sympathy exactly that the French farce which is the continuing Karla Homolka story engenders for Canada's most notorious female killer, but it may be something perilously close to it. Ms. Homolka, who left a federal prison in Quebec early last month amid a barrage of media attention, managed to disappear from public view in Montreal after an unexpected appearance on the French CBC network just hours after her release.
