TTC allows pass-sharing in bid to draw new riders
The TTC has launched a plan that will allow riders to share their passes. The strategy will lose money, but transit officials hope it will also generate new riders.The plan will cost the perennially cash-strapped transit service an estimated $2.8-million annually in lost revenue.
But the Toronto Transit Commission hopes that allowing riders to lend out their passes when not in use will bring in more than two million new riders each year.
