Roberts supports precedent, won't discuss Roe v. Wade
Washington Judge John Roberts, nominated to become chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, said Tuesday that the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling is "settled as a precedent of the court" as he was pressed to address the abortion issue on the second day of his confirmation hearings.
