Alberta's Fairmont Banff Springs, pictured above, was named the best golf resort in Canada and Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina the best in the United States by readers of Travel & Leisure Golf magazine.
Other top U.S. golf resorts on the list, based on a reader survey and published in the September/October issue, included the Boulders Resort & Golden Door Spa in Carefree, Ariz., Sea Island Resorts, Sea Island, Ga., and Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas, Maui, Hawaii.
Casa de Campo in the La Romana region of the Dominican Republic was named the best golf resort in the Caribbean. In Mexico, the magazine put Cabo del Sol, in Los Cabos, at No. 1.
