Grits to offer more than $3-billion to aid natives

Ottawa — The federal government is set to announce a major cash injection to lift native living standards that it has called “shameful.” Ottawa will commit between $3-billion and $4-billion when the Prime Minister meets with the premiers and aboriginal leaders later this month, The Canadian Press has learned. The money will be promised over five years when the first ministers meet Nov. 24 in Kelowna.
