Gear up for the spiritual season with brass music from the Hannaford Street Silver Band and the singing of the Nathaniel Dett Chorale. In addition to favourites such as Don't Be Weary and Listen to the Lambs, performances will include music by Canadian composer Gabriel Major-Marothy and John Kim Bell and Miklos Massey's In the Land of Spirits.

Foliage, stage left
Guelph, Ont.
It's a little cold for live outdoor theatre, but the Guelph Arboretum offers the next best thing. Each weekend until mid-December, the Theatre in the Trees program is featuring dinner and a show in an auditorium surrounded by windows looking out onto forest.
Currently on stage is There Goes the Bride a British farce about a wedding day interrupted by an accident and the unexpected arrival of a flapper girl.
Cost: $53 a person.
