SYRACUSE, N.Y. — From an office in a suburban strip mall, U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Shawn Law battles in increasingly challenging terrain to pursue his mission: restocking America's military machine. Sgt. Law is one of the most successful army recruiters in the state, having met his quota for enlistments each month since taking over the Mattydale recruiting station on the northern outskirts of Syracuse.
