Wireless router lost connection to Internet, can't re-establish it

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: I have a D-Link DSL G604T wireless router it worked for two days and does not now. The router is connecting OK and gets on the Internet, but a page says "cannot be found" on every page I try to go to. When I plug my USB modem in, the Internet works fine. I tried changing the DNS values, but still no change. I don't know what next.

ANSWER: Try pointing at the wireless connection icon on the tray and right click it. It should give you a menu with one option being "repair". Select that and let windows shut down the wireless services and restart them and then reset the IP address. If that doesn't do it — reset the router using the inset button somewhere on the router labelled reset. If that doesn't do it — — reset the DSL modem and the router, check to see if the Windows Zero Configuration Service is started. Right click on My Computer and choose Manage, then select Services — and find WZC at the bottom of the list, start it and exit the manage services section. Try it again — and if that didn't do it — repair windows so it will fix IE since you can't do just IE.
