XP gives quick blue screen during boot, then reboots over and over

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: Windows XP Professional won't start. It gets to the Windows XP screen with the progress bar, then a blue screen appears and it says something but i can't read because the computer restarts by itself so quickly...

Charly

ANSWER: Press the F8 key on startup to get the startup menu options. Choose safe mode and see if it will boot. If it does boot it's probably a driver issue or something running on startup and should be completely fixable. You might find a hint as to what is causing the problem by looking at the event viewer entries.
