QUESTION: I think my problem has something to do with the wireless connection I am using. When I am at school I am connected through LAN and all programs work fine. When I get home I use Netgear wireless connection and all chat programs (AIM,MSN, YAHOO) don't work. I can connect fine but I am not getting messages from people and they are not getting mine. I have a laptop and we have another desktop computer that uses the same connection and everything works fine on that PC. Hope you can help. Thanks

ANSWER: It could be an issue with the wireless card. Upgrade or reinstall the drivers as a first step. If you are running firewall software like Norton Internet Security it may have the LAN set as a trusted network and the WiFi as untrusted and may be set to block that traffic on untrusted networks. Turn off or uninstall any firewall software and try again (but be sure to make sure you are protected once you get things working again).
