Nothing illustrates the depth of men's ice hockey better than the fact of Sweden meeting (and beating) Finland in Sunday's Olympic final. Consider: This was the third time NHL players competed the Winter Games. In those three events, six different teams qualified for the gold-medal final. In 1998, it was the Czech Republic and Russia; in 2002, it was Canada and the United States; in 2006, it was Sweden and Finland.
