Windows crashes while viewing photos from CD

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: Today while browsing through some CDs that I had placed some photos on, this error message came up on my Windows XP PC: "Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close, etc. then send or don't send error". It happened when I clicked on some of the folders on the CD. What I had been doing closed and went back to the desktop. I wasn't connected to the Internet at the time. Would it be a problem with my computer?

Nora

ANSWER: It sounds more likely that there's a problem with some of the files on the CD. I would check to see if there's any consistency to which files cause the shutdown, then follow the path from there.
