QUESTION: Up until about a week ago, we had dial-up and now have DSL. We cannot keep the connection for more than 5 minutes at a time (we've logged this). We are continuously going in and out. We talked to our ISP, our router and firmware are new and this is quite frankly, annoying. I put in a new line directly from the main line to the computer to see if that would help. It doesn't. We seem to be paying for something that isn't working properly and can't get any answers.

ANSWER: Make sure that you have DSL filters on all the phones and not on the line to the DSL modem. Also, your router could be constantly rebooting a common problem with DLink routers. Sometimes old firmware works better to prevent this as, well as disabling features in the router.
