QUESTION: I have a PC running Windows XP Professional. I have downloaded and installed Windows Service Packs 1 and 2. I connect to the Internet using Rogers Hi-Speed Lite. I also use the Zone Labs Zone-Alarm firewall program (free version). If I leave the computer on and idle for more than about 20 min., when I return, I'm unable to access the Internet. The browser opens but I get page not found errors regardless of which site I try to load. Can I make any change to prevent this?

ANSWER: I'm assuming you have to reboot to fix this problem? Is the computer hibernating or going into sleep mode in the meantime? If it's a desktop there is really no need to hibernate (unless the sound keeps you awake at night) so try turning off that feature. If that doesn't work try removing zone alarm and run with the built in windows firewall for a while to see if that fixes it. This all assumes you have run Ad-aware, Spybot, and Spy Sweeper to remove all adware/spyware of course...
