Tribunal sides with gay teacher in rights fight

A Nova Scotia human-rights board has sided with a Halifax gym teacher who said she was wrongly accused of sexual impropriety with a female student by two male colleagues because she is gay. In a decision handed down this week, a Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission tribunal ordered the Halifax Regional School Board to pay Lindsay Willow more than $27,000 in damages and issue a full retraction and letter of apology for the incident.
