Can Outlook Express be set up to open e-mail with PowerPoint?

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: I am wondering where I would change the security settings for Outlook Express so I could get e-mail with pps? I receive these but cannot open because of security settings,or at least that is what I am told when I try.

Bill Glen

ANSWER: If you are using Outlook Express 6, go to the Tools menu in Outlook Express, open the Options menu item. In the tabbed window that opens click on the Security tab. About a third of the way down there's a tick box beside 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened...'. Uncheck the box. Click OK. Close and reopen Outlook Express and you should be good to go.

Of course you'll need PowerPoint or PowerPoint Viewer installed on your PC to actually open pps files.
