Alberta girl weaves spell magic

French class helped take an Alberta girl to second place at an international spelling bee, but it was a German word that tripped up Finola Hackett in the end. Fourteen-year-old Finola, an eighth grader from Tofield, Alta., is the first Canadian to make it so far at the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee. "It feels really awesome being the last Canadian," said Finola. "I'm really proud of how Canada has done. I know everybody at home is rooting for me.
