Alberta's gift to culture

WASHINGTON Later this month, a massive off-road dump truck will be parked on the National Mall in front of the Smithsonian Institution, an eye-popping sight that the Alberta government hopes will draw attention to the province's growing importance as an energy supplier to the United States.
The truck, a smaller version of the two-storey-high models used in the Athabasca oil sands, is part of a $3.8-million publicity push by Alberta in the U.
