Can a notebook drive be partitioned?

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: I have got a HP laptop with Windows XP installed and only one drive — C: (D: is for the DVD/CD drive). I want to have more drives without formatting hard disk. Is this possible?

Sunil

ANSWER: This is possible. There are a variety of third party partitioning tools available t do this without damaging the current Windows installation. Partition Commander from V-Com and Partition Magic from Symantec are just two programs that will work for this task.
