Former PM Mulroney lobbies for RIM in Washington

KITCHENER, Ont. Former prime minister Brian Mulroney tried to contact an American cabinet secretary on behalf of Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX:RIM) during RIM's legal battle with NTP Inc., according to an internal e-mail, the Waterloo Region Record reported Saturday.
RIM hired Mulroney and his Montreal law firm, Ogilvy Renault, in late 2004 to work on the appeal of NTP's court victory over RIM, said David Long, another RIM attorney.
