Canadian golfer Balding dies

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. Al Balding, the first Canadian to win a PGA Tour event, has died of cancer at the age of 82.
The Toronto native won the Mayfair Open in 1955 and finished sixth on the Tour money list in 1957, when he won the Miami Beach Open, the West Palm Beach Open and the Havana International.
He and George Knudson represented Canada at the 1968 World Cup and won the team event, with Balding posting the lowest individual score.
