CD-RW drive not recognized by Windows XP

Globe and Mail Update

QUESTION: I have a Pentium 4 machine with Windows XP Professional and Service Pack II. Now I can't install my new Sony CD RW drive on my system. The same drive is detected but the system hangs each time. The drive works fine in Windows 98.
