Ashton shuns Stornoway takeover bid

Vancouver A takeover battle between two Vancouver-based diamond exploration companies heated up yesterday, with Ashton Mining of Canada Inc. urging its shareholders to reject a hostile $120-million takeover bid from Stornoway Diamond Corp. and voicing "serious concerns" over a deal between Stornoway and Rio Tinto PLC, Ashton's biggest shareholder.
