Taliban takes over town for second time in 2 months

KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN — Taliban militants took over a southern police station after officers fled an Afghan town for a second time in two months, police said Thursday. Under attack from Taliban forces, police on Wednesday left the remote Helmand province town of Garmser, which was briefly held by insurgents in July before a U.S.-led force reclaimed it, said district police chief, Ghulam Nabi Malakhail.
