CALGARY — The Forzani Group Ltd., a major sporting goods retailer whose banners include Nevada Bob's Golf, is buying the operating assets of JKL Golf Corp. Inc., a Nevada Bob's Golf licensee in Calgary, Red Deer, Alta., and downtown Toronto.
The seven stores will continue as Nevada Bob's Golf and are expected to be franchised in the coming year, Calgary-based Forzani said Thursday, without disclosing the cost of the transaction.
The Forzani Group calls itself Canada's largest national retailer of sporting goods, operating stores under the corporate banners Sport Chek, Coast Mountain Sports, Sport Mart and National Sports.
Forzani is also a franchiser under the banners Sports Experts, Intersport, RnR, Econosports, Atmosphere, Pegasus, Tech Shop, Nevada Bob's Golf, Hockey Experts and The Fitness Source.
