Playing safe has turned Canada into Big Sissy

My late mother, bless her neurotic soul, would love this new world that we are hurtling toward, never faster than with the spate of legislation put forth in recent days, particularly in my province of Ontario but elsewhere too. My ma saw the planet through dun-coloured glasses. She was into threat-assessment before the security wankers now so in vogue ever gave it a thought; it was as automatic as breathing to her.
