Grits, Tories battle over legislative foot-dragging

The Conservatives and the Liberals squabbled over which party causes the longest delays in Parliament as debate over criminal law legislation entered Question Period on Thursday. The Liberals had offered an olive branch to the Conservatives to pass more than half of their proposed tough-on-crime bills. But that suggestion received little air time in parliament as frustrations boiled over thanks to one legislative committee after another stalling throughout the day.
