Alberta Tory leadership candidates split over gay marriage

RED DEER, ALTA. — One of the main contenders to become the next Alberta premier says he would continue the province's fight against the federal same-sex marriage law. “This is an issue that we do have to take a stand on. I don't believe the battle is over,” former cabinet minister Lyle Oberg told more than 600 people who packed a Tory leadership forum Wednesday night.
