In search of perfect immigrants

Immigration Minister Monte Solberg announced last week that, next year, Canada will be welcoming close to 265,000 new immigrants, also known as "permanent residents" -- the highest level we've seen in more than two decades. Almost 160,000 of these newcomers will be "economic immigrants" and their families. They are being selected in anticipation of the useful role they will play in Canada's labour market.
