Liberal MPs to step aside in Montreal

OTTAWA — Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion is being offered the opportunity to rebuild the federal Liberal Party in Quebec with the possibility of three safe Montreal ridings being vacated by senior Liberal MPs. Yesterday, Outremont MP Jean Lapierre, who served as the Quebec lieutenant to former prime minister Paul Martin, confirmed that he will announce next month that he will not seek re-election.
