Housing values more than double in 25 years: survey
Residential housing values have more than doubled in the last 25 years in Canada rising from an average of $76,021 in 1981 to an estimated $277,000 in 2006, according to a Re/Max real estate survey released Wednesday.
The buying power of baby boomers who are purchasing homes for themselves and their kids and a steady influx of new Canadians seeking to put down roots have fuelled demand and pushed up prices, said Re/Max.
