  1. Wilfred Jones from Scarborough, Canada writes: A timely article. Congratulations to Dr.Greiver and Simon Avery for their efforts. I am a 'seventies something, retiree'. Ever since I started my annual medical exams in 2000, I have been logging test results on my personal computer. I can look on one page all my lab tests for the past 6 years. My doctors can't do that, they have to rustle through a file folder of loose paper to hopefully find what I can punch up in a minute or so. In addition I log blood pressure in the local pharmacy and these numbers are logged & charted and the results handed to my doctor when I see him for regular checks. At least my current doctor types prescriptions!
  2. Karine Private from Canada writes: As a patient I would dream about the system like that! But I think it is very far away - one reason being that doctors are afraid of e-records: if you right something in the "unrecognizable" handwriting on a piece of paper which could easily get lost - it would be harder for patients to prove that the doctor made a mistake.
