  2. David Simon from Canada writes: This is what I've been saying on these boards for some time now. the only real bidders would be another car company or private equity.
  3. pete s from windsor, Canada writes: read the blog of Chris Vanderdoelen in the Windsor Star for odds on who will buy Chrysler. the most likely bet is a private equity firm.

Sorry but the Chrysler bashing is getting tiresome and you are full of baloney.

I wouldn't spend a nickel on a car which supports the Japanese economy over ours.
  6. andrei de souza from Toronto, Canada writes: Magna is right to want to move towards designing and building cars for auto makers. Don't buy Chrysler though. Get the design/build contracts, perhaps an engine plant, and the experience, but that's it.

Seems like Chery Automobile of China has beaten Magna out for the contracts to build cars for Chrysler probably because Magna doesn't have an assembly plant there. Magna needs to move into China in a hurry. Build a Chinese assembly plant to compete, and down the road hopefully a Canadian plant. Keep the high end design work in Canada.

Born On Wrong Side of 49th Parallel: you may have been born on the wrong side, as you put it, but you are in Canada now, so count yourself lucky.
  7. andrei de souza from Toronto, Canada writes: EK: support the Japanese economy over ours? There are 5 domestic manufacturers in this country: GM, Toyota, Ford, Honda, and Daimler-Chrysler. And they are ALL foreign. How is buying a Honda supporting the Japanese economy over ours unless you buy a Honda made in Japan over one in Alliston, Ontario?

If you buy a Ford made in Texas you are supporting a foreign economy over Canada's also. I suppose you buy Second Cup coffee over Starbucks? Rona over Home Depot? McCain over Kraft Foods? Roots over The Gap? If you don't you are a hypocrit, and should start supporting the Canadian economy over foreign ones.

Consumer Reports!! I wouldn't consult Consumer Reports if I was going to buy a Toaster let alone an automobile.

They still slag types like the Chrysler 300C, even though it is the most Award Winning Automobile in automotive history.
