Who is Friar Galvao?
Pope Benedict canonized the first Brazilian-born saint on Friday during his visit to the world's largest Roman Catholic country.
Here are some facts about Friar Galvao:
* Antonio de Sant'Anna Galvao lived between 1739 and 1822. He was born in Guaratingueta, between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, to an important family of Portuguese origin. He was ordained a Franciscan priest at the age of 23.
