Uh Oh at BMO

Brave words from the online world, in which Bank of Nova Scotia's director of online marketing, Michael Seaton, blogs on his site, The Client Side, about the recent woes of rival Bank of Montreal. Well, actually, the writings were by no means revelatory or even original. But that he even blogged about a competitor Big Bank's problems is a departure from normal practice in the gentlemanly and closed club of Canadian banking. "Uh Oh at BMO," starts Mr. Seaton, going on to link the falling marble slabs at BMO head office tower in Toronto and the falling bolts and fasteners at the BMO soccer stadium in Toronto to the fallen trading situation at BMO, where almost $700-million was reported lost recently. Mr. Seaton rakishly concludes: "Oh boy. When it rains it pours."
