  1. shmeety shmeets from Vancouver, Canada writes: I experienced Toronto only after the "regooding" had run its course- in the late 90s. You feel the absence of something though.. livability, a soul... A dysfunctional, nowhere type of urbanity permeates.

    Brilliant essay Mr. Gibson!
  2. Phil G from Ottawa, Canada writes: Everyone pines for the past. Time to move on. 20 years from now, some 30 year-old will wonder, 'Oh where did that beloved Pizza Pizza stand I used to visit disappear to? Woe is me!'
  3. Sam Gribley from Canada writes: Thanks to Mr. Gibson for a beautiful essay - I actually find myself having some sympathy for Toronto, which I assumed had always been dull and commercial (being 20-something, my Toronto experience is also "post-regooding", though there are the occasional shadows of something more interesting).

I can also sympathize with Mr. Gibson, since my generation's bohemian period seems to be anchored in Montreal, which has mostly avoided "regooding" so far, but is showing signs of weakening immunity.
  4. Stalock Rujulus from Toronto, Canada writes: Damn, Mr. Gibson, you write well! Fantastic piece. You make me sorry I didn't catch a little more of your fleeting, Boho Toronto.
