Liberals face huge fundraising deficit

OTTAWA — Liberal Party stalwarts are breathing a sigh of relief that there was no spring or summer election because they didn't have much money in the bank to fund a campaign. In this year's first financial quarter, the Conservatives took in 10 times as much money as the Liberals from 10 times as many people, giving them millions to spare for anti-Liberal TV ads.
