Turtle Power! City council backs down

PETERBOROUGH, ONT. — A group of environmentally conscious kids has successfully lobbied Peterborough city council to keep installing turtle crossing signs along county roads. The Kids for Turtles group presented their case at Wednesday's council meeting, arguing the species still needed protection. Council reversed their previous decision to remove the signs, since they were not covered in the Ontario Traffic Manual.
