CAMP BASTION, AFGHANISTAN — Major Andy Walker's face looks toughened, as though the stubble on his cheeks and scalp had been sandblasted away rather than trimmed. An officer of the elite British Royal Marines, he has spent more time squinting into the harsh light of the battlefields in this region than any Canadian soldier.
