  1. Jocelyn Cerezo from Toronto, Canada writes: I just finished reading your article about Alysson Ordinario's health series. My heart goes with her family, the ordeal that her family went through to save her life. The doctors are excellent esp at Sick Kids. Glad to hear she is doing fine and normal again. Well the purpose of this comment is to appeal to the govt of Ontario to waive her Big hosp. bills. Her mother is a single mom and I don't think she even make enough money to support her 2 children. She has a polio and uses a cane...give me break! how could someone with that condition ever afford to pay $90,500, she could if she pays $1.00/month. Yap, still a long way home for Alysson as she still have to go for follow up visits with her Doctors at least every 6 months. My son has a billiary atresia, the problem was corrected however, he still goes to Sick kids for follow up visits, has to have echo cardio, ultra-sound, blood tests etc. he has to take medications 2 vitamins and 2 anti-biotics. THanks to my family benefits, I get all re-imbursement with all his drug expenses. What I'm saying here is how about if her mother does not have benefits, imagine the cost monthy for her medication which I'm sure she takes medication still. I'm begging you to make an appeal to the govt of Ontario to waive her hospital expenses ....I willnot be surprise if her mother will go on Welfare as she can not support her self and children. Thank you. Jnluv2bead
  2. Beth Tirona from Surrey, Canada writes: I am deeply touched about the ordeal that Alysson especially her mom Alegria went through. I can't imagine how a single mom, who has a case of polio on one of her legs, who was separated from her two daughters for more than a year and has kept two jobs just to save enough money to bring her two daughters to Canada, and who just three days after they were reunited, his unfortunate, unthinkable, a case of bad luck happened to this family. That would break anyone!

Miracle of miracles Alysson is as tough as her mom and they both survived! I am very positive that her huge hospital bills will be cleared by the province of Ontario. I am encouraging everyone to make a plea to the government of Canada to help families like Alegria whose only dream is to make a much better life for her children.
  3. Anthony Macatangay from Toronto, Canada writes: Yes, it is still a long way from home for Alysson. This is a very touching story, knowing what the Ordinario family went through and for what they will have to go through considering Alysson still has to go for her rehab at Bloorview. Sick Kids is known for helping sick children in Canada and children from different countries to live a normal life. Thank you to the doctors and nurses at Sick Kids for their untiring effort to help sick children live a normal life. Canada is known for it's kindness and generosity not only to the Canadians and landed Immigrants but also to other people around the world who are in need and to the calamity victims worldwide. I remember about a news some years ago about the case of a foreigner who was treated here in Canada for a suspected Ebola disease. The government spent several thousand dollars in hospital bills and medicines for the treatment of that person. I remember that the suspected Ebola carrier would be sent home to her country after the treatment. I think that person was not able to pay the government of Canada regarding the hospital bills and medical expenses incurred during the treatment. In Ms. Alegria Ordinario's case, a landed Immigrant in Canada for couple of years, she must come up with $90,500 in hospital bills, because her daughter Alysson, a landed Immigrant only for a couple of days, was not in Canada the three months required to be covered by Ontario's health-care plan. Hence, I would like to make an to appeal to the Ontario government to waive Ms. Ordinario's big hospital bills. Ms. Ordinario, is a single mother who has a polio and who uses a cane and a wheelchair to go around the hospital. She worked hard for two years at a Toronto-based call centre to save just enough money to sponsor her two daughters. Trusting this will merit your kind consideration on Ms. Ordinario's case. Thank you very much. Best regards, Anthony
  4. Mhar dangpa from Scarborough, Canada writes: WEw!!! My tissue is wet after reading this article.

Many of us believed that Canada is a place of a greener future for the our families. This is the reason why many immigrants are trying their very best and spend even their last penny just to migrate here in Canada. I believed so in my heart that this was the reason why Mrs. Ordinario came here despite her polio. To migrate in this country, the country of Hope as I heard to many people, Not knowing that after some years she will be bound to pay hospital bills for life. If the Government would not hear their plea and ask them to pay that hospital bills, I can not imagine what will happen to this family. Being a single mom and partly disable how could this lady manage to pay that big big big or shall I say huge amount of money. I hope and pray that the Government will waive their bills. And give them consideration. Law is law but the Goverment must consider the situation of this family. Have a heart, give consideration to this family. Show us now that CANADA IS THE PLACE OF HOPE.....AND A GREENER FUTURE THAN BACK HOME...
