The acquittal of Steven Truscott

A five-judge panel of the Ontario Court of Appeal has given Steven Truscott what he has been waiting for since 1959: a statement that his conviction for the murder of Lynne Harper was a miscarriage of justice. The judges did not give Mr. Truscott what he really wanted -- a statement that he was "factually innocent" -- because they couldn't be sure exactly how a jury would decide if the case were to go back to trial.
