Toronto Colin Mochrie will get to mock adults this fall as host of Are You Smarter Than a Canadian 5th Grader.
Global Television announced today that the actor-comedian will host the Canadian version of the American quiz show, which sees adults going up against students in a battle of the brains.
Mochrie says in a release that he's “been from one end of this country to the other and met adults of all ages” and assures the fifth graders that they “have nothing to worry about.”
Mochrie — known for his improv skills on the sketch comedy series Whose Line Is It Anyway? — plans to donate a portion of his earnings from the gig to the CanWest charity Raise-a-Reader.
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader offers adults the chance to win up to $1-million (U.S.).
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is the host of the show south of the border.
The five Canadian episodes will be taped in Toronto and broadcast nationally this fall.
