Surrey, B.C., Mounties target domestic violence

SURREY, B.C. — The city of Surrey is aiming to target domestic violence by launching an new initiative within their RCMP detachment. Surrey Mayor Diane Watts announced the new Dedicated Domestic Violence unit on Monday. An officer and a support worker will respond to the nearly 1200 domestic violence calls placed to police every year.
