Canada mulling global nuclear initiative, Bernier says
SYDNEY — Canada will decide very soon whether it will participate in a potentially controversial international nuclear-energy initiative, Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier said at a news conference Thursday.
One of the world's two largest uranium producers along with Australia, Canada has been asked to attend a conference about the so-called Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) in Vienna on Sept. 16.
