JOHANNESBURG — Thirty years ago today, South African security police beat Steve Biko to death.He was just 30 years old when they murdered him. Despite his relative youth, Mr. Biko left a body of brilliant writing, inspiring an impassioned movement of young people who would go on to play a key role in toppling apartheid.
