Solo Mobile ditches billboard with Nazi death camp reference
A dozen Solo Mobile billboards featuring a punk-rock-era reference to a Nazi death camp have been taken down.The ads, located in subway stations in Toronto and Vancouver, feature a young urban Japanese woman in punk attire. One of the buttons she's wearing reads, "Belsen was a Gas."
The phrase is the title of a controversial Sex Pistols song about a German concentration camp during the Second World War.
