Haligonians won't stand for controversial roadwork

HALIFAX — Residents of a key commuter road moved their furniture outside yesterday morning, creating outdoor living rooms to protest against controversial plans to widen the road by slicing away part of their lawns. "We wanted to make the point that we're a neighbourhood and not just an arterial highway," explained Kevin Moynihan of the Chebucto Neighbourhood Association.
